About The Green Door Tavern

The Green Door Tavern stands as one of Chicago's oldest bars, located at 678 N Orleans St in the River North neighborhood. Established in 1921, this historic tavern has witnessed much of the city's history, including the Prohibition era. The building itself is one of the only wooden structures left standing after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, constructed by James McCole, and notably leans to one side, as evident in its windows.
